BCSWMD to Expand Residential Electronic Waste Recycling Program

    Effective Wednesday, December 26, 2012, Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District will expand their Electronic Waste Recycling Program both at the Bartholomew County Landfill and Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center. During normal hours, they will accept from residents nearly any small appliance or electronic device that utilizes a power cord.

          Examples of accepted items accepted include televisions, phones, computers and components, and radios. For a more detailed list of items, visit their website at The following items will not be accepted; Console or projection televisions, non-intact appliances/TVs (ex. cannibalized), items primarily made of glass or ceramics, and CFC- containing appliances. BCSWMD reserves the right to refuse any item for recycling that is disruptive to our recycling efforts.
