Important Dates for Voter Registration
03/20/2008
May 20, 2008 Deadline by noon, for a candidate to file a verified election
recount.
May 20,2008 Voter Registration opens for data entry.
June 30, 2008 Deadline by noon, for the Democratic or Republican Party
to fill a vacancy on the general election ballot.
June 30, 2008 Deadline by noon, for an independent or minor party
candidate to file a petition of nomination for verification
of petition signatures.
July 3, 2008 Deadline by noon, to file a declaration of intent to be a
write-in candidate at the general election.
July 15, 2008 Deadline by noon for a candidate nominated at the primary
election, a candidate who has filled a vacancy, or a write-in
candidate, to voluntarily withdraw.
July 15, 2008 Deadline by noon, for independent or minor party
candidate to file a declaration of candidacy and
petition of nomination after verification of petition
signatures.
August 6th, 2008 First day Voter Registration may receive an Absentee
ballot application from a voter.
October 6, 2008 Voter Registration Ends.
October 6, 2008 First day that a voter may vote absentee ballot in the Voter
Registration office.
October 23, 2008 First day a confined voter or voter with disabilities may vote
an absentee ballot before an absentee voter board at the
voter's residence or place of confinement.
October 25, 2008 Voter Registration open 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. for early
voting.
October 27, 2008 Deadline by Midnight for Voter Registration to receive
mailed, hand-delivered, or faxed absentee ballot applications
to vote by mail.
November 1, 2008 Voter Registration open 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. for early
voting.
November 3, 2008 Deadline by noon, for a voter to early vote in the Voter
Registration office.
November 4, 2008 GENERAL ELECTION DAY
