The Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office wishes to express our sincere appreciation to Fodrea CSA Teachers, Staff, Students and their families. Following lessons relating to the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office K-9 (Bolt), a public fundraising benefit was held at Chicago's Pizza on Tuesday, March 4th. Sheriff's Office employee, Lauren Burton, shared her photography talent at the event and advised students studied many lessons relating to law enforcement, K-9 officers, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), community service, etc.
Sheriff's Deputy Jessica Pendleton, Bolt's handler and trainer, stood outside Chicago's Pizza with Bolt while the children petted Bolt. Many parents took photos of their children with Bolt and Jessica and enjoyed a fun family night. For each order placed, Chicago's Pizza donated 20% of the sales. The students also had a donation jar and many artistic advertising posters encouraging support of their very worthwhile goal. Students were successful in raising sufficient funds for a GPS Collar for Bolt. Deputy Pendleton advised the collar will be an additional tool which can be utilized to assist in search and rescue efforts and apprehending suspects.
Special thanks go out to Fodrea CSA Teachers, Staff, Students and their families, Chicago's Pizza, and all of those individuals in the community who supported the Fundraising Effort. Additional thanks go out to Deputy Pendleton, Bolt, and the Sheriff's Department Staff and families who supported the event.
